Make Money Cleaning Up Clutter!

One of my biggest goals this summer was cleaning out clutter in our house.  My husband and I had SO MUCH STUFF when we moved in.  I thought I'd be going through boxes forever! One thing we have had a hard time decluttering is media.  We have lots of vinyl, CDs, DVDs, and books (SO MANY BOOKS!)  We are from the generation before everything was online and most things could be streamed.  So we own a lot of TV seasons on DVD and boxed sets.  It's so much to store. We managed to make some progress by adding IKEA Kallax shelving units to our basement.  We actually have three of these down there now.  We love the new walnut effect color!  I really need to take an updated picture. These units have helped us organize the media we are keeping (for now).  We have packed four boxes of books and DVDs to donate to our local library this fall for their annual sale.  For some of our clutter, however, we were able to make money by selling books and DVDs online! Designing the Life I Want

C hange: one word that sums up the past year of my life. I became a homeowner about a year ago. And in the past year, I feel as if I have become a different person. I had never lived on my own before, so moving out of my parents' house was a HUGE step. All of a sudden, I was in charge of bills and feeding myself - things I had never worried about when I lived with my parents. Aside from my one credit card, I knew that my parents would take care of everything else and if I was hungry, something would be in the refrigerator, ready to heat. That's not how it works in the real world. I found myself stressing out very early on about money, because I realized how expensive everything is and that my paycheck wasn't endless. I worried because I was suddenly spending way more than I was saving.
